Join Chris Kline from Butterfly Ridge for a half hour talk followed by a couple hours at the lights, identifying and discussing the moths that arrive. Meet at the Arena Area. Christopher Kline’s interest in butterflies began in 1997 when he began tagging Monarch butterflies in Indiana. Since 1997, he has tagged thousands of Monarchs, co-founded the Central Arizona Butterfly Association, and founded the Southwest Monarch Study. He has also served as the Butterfly Specialist at the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio. He now is the Director of Butterfly Ridge Butterfly Conservation Center in Rockbridge, Ohio where he and his wife have converted 21 acres of fields and forests into butterfly friendly habitats and have quintupled the butterfly population in the process. He has authored several books including A Field Guide to Tropical Butterflies of American Conservatories, Butterfly Gardening with Native Plants, Butterfly Rider, Moths of Butterfly Ridge, and the Beginner’s Guide to Mothing INFIRMARY MOUND PARK IS OPEN DURING S.R. 37 DETOUR. Per the Ohio Department of Transportation, beginning Monday, June 2 (and for 120-days), motorists will NOT be able to access Infirmary Mound Park from the south on S.R. 37. Motorists will be unable to access S.R. 37 from Union Station Road or Hayes Road. At the request of ODOT, please follow the route below to get to Infirmary Mound Park (4351 Lancaster Rd., Granville, OH 43023). If traveling from intersection of S.R. 37 & I-70: Travel east on I-70 Exit at S.R. 79 Travel north on S.R. 79 Merge onto S.R. 16 west Travel west on S.R. 16 Exit at S.R. 37 (Granville exit) Travel south on S.R. 37, beyond James Road to park entrance If traveling from areas west of S.R. 37: Travel east on S.R. 16 Exit at S.R. 37 (Granville exit) Travel south on S.R. 37, beyond James Road to park entrance However, you can access the park from the south on a shorter route. Take 37 to Beaver Run. Turn right and then turn left on Canyon Rd. Follow Canyon to James and take a left. Then you will dead end on James and go South.
