Breaking News: For the 9th year, magic has returned to Infirmary Mound Park! We are so glad the fairies have migrated back to the Wildflower Trail and moved in. Their village features over 60 new fairy homes and businesses! They love having visitors and especially enjoy seeing humans wearing fairy apparel, so feel free to come dressed in your best finery. The fairies plan to stay through September, when they will once again make plans to migrate south. And more fairies will be moving in at times over the summer! Will you find them all? This year do not forget to use the United Fairy Postal Service to write to the fairies and fairy friends. They may even write you back! While you are here also visit the Nature Playscape at Shelter 5! To find the fairy trail continue straight as you enter the park. At the T intersection turn left and park at the lake near shelter 6. Stop at the fairy wing kiosk, grab a map, and follow it around the lake. You can also look for signs. The start of the Wildflower/Fairy Trail is about 1/4 mile from the parking area at Shelter 6. The actual Fairy Trail is a 1/4 mile loop. The wee folk wanted us to share some Fairy Directives while visiting: 1) Please be kind to all creatures! 2) Leave No Trace! Please do not leave any glitter, trash, or plastic. These can hurt the fairy friends. 3) Please stay on trail! There are plants like poison ivy and stinging nettle in the woods in this area! 4) Please leave houses as you find them! So the next visitors can experience the magic as well. Share your adventures at #LPDfairytrail INFIRMARY MOUND PARK IS OPEN DURING S.R. 37 DETOUR. Per the Ohio Department of Transportation, beginning Monday, June 2 (and for 120-days), motorists will NOT be able to access Infirmary Mound Park from the south on S.R. 37. Motorists will be unable to access S.R. 37 from Union Station Road or Hayes Road. At the request of ODOT, please follow the route below to get to Infirmary Mound Park (4351 Lancaster Rd., Granville, OH 43023). If traveling from intersection of S.R. 37 & I-70: Travel east on I-70 Exit at S.R. 79 Travel north on S.R. 79 Merge onto S.R. 16 west Travel west on S.R. 16 Exit at S.R. 37 (Granville exit) Travel south on S.R. 37, beyond James Road to park entrance If traveling from areas west of S.R. 37: Travel east on S.R. 16 Exit at S.R. 37 (Granville exit) Travel south on S.R. 37, beyond James Road to park entrance HOWEVER you can access the park from the south on a shorter route. Take 37 to Beaver Run. Turn right and then turn left on Canyon Rd. Follow Canyon to James and take a left. Then you will dead end on James and go South.
