Pine Grove Hall is thrilled to host the album release show for State College musician Kevin Briggs and his self-titled debut album. Briggs’ record delivers 10 original songs that are as personal as they are celebratory—blending the heart of Americana, the grit of alt-country, and the expansive vibe of cosmic roots rock. It’s a bold new voice grounded in raw emotion and wide-open sonic landscapes, drawing echoes of Gillian Welch, Beck, Bob Dylan, and Humberto Purnett. For this special night, Briggs will be backed by a powerhouse six-piece band featuring Bob Baroner, Steve Buckalew, Steve Branstetter, Dave DeFlippis, Charlie Heim, and Stephen Treado, with additional contributions from Jeremy Frank, Sean Hershey, and AJ Lemier. Later in the evening, the band shifts gears to showcase four new songs from longtime collaborators One Acre West, spotlighting the soaring vocals and Texas soul of Kristi Jean Branstetter.
