Since 2014, contemporary jazz quartet Spin Cycle has been captivating audiences across the U. S. and Canada with their fearless blend of styles and boundless energy. Co-led by drummer Scott Neumann and saxophonist Tom Christensen, the band delivers an ever-changing mix—from the modal echoes of John Coltrane to the second-line funk of New Orleans to the daring edge of free jazz. Rounding out the lineup are guitarist Pete McCann and bassist Dave Ambrosio, both acclaimed bandleaders in their own right. Together, the four have spent the past seven years touring, recording, and sharing their craft through workshops at colleges nationwide. Their fourth album will soon be released on their own label, Sound Footing Records. Whether it’s the intimacy of a ballad, the soulful pull of swing, or the electric charge of improvisation, Spin Cycle thrives on variety.
