Meet in the Visitor Center. Join us at Lake Bemidji State Park for an evening of celestial exploration as we uncover the art of navigating using the stars! In this program, you will learn how to locate the North Star (Polaris) . We will cover the basics of celestial navigation, how to identify constellations like the Big Dipper and Cassiopeia and how they point the way to true north. After the indoor presentation, we will head outside for a hands-on stargazing experience! Using a telescope, we will explore the night sky together and look at the North Star and other celestial objects. This program is great for anyone curious about the stars above! All age groups are welcome but we recommend it for ages 8. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bug spray is recommended. Meet in the Visitor Center where the fun will begin!
