Details:
This fall and winter, join the Twin Cities Metro Growers Network and MN SEED Project for a three-part workshop series that will teach you how to collect, clean and sow native seeds to grow your own beautiful and beneficial native landscapes. Growing native plants on your farm and garden attracts beneficial insects that help crops thrive. By creating more spaces for Minnesota native plants, anyone can support healthy ecosystems across our landscapes. This is the first workshop in our series! Come join the MN SEED Project for collecting seeds from native plants at 21 Roots Farm! We will show you how to collect seeds from dozens of different native plants, including forbs and grasses. We will also talk about processing and growing the seeds. There will be an opportunity to take home seeds for your gardens too. Please wear clothing comfortable to work outdoors in. Registration: This event is free to attend. Please register in advance, as our capacity is limited to 30 participants. About 21 Roots Farm: 21 Roots Farm is a 501(c) 3 with a commitment to transform the lives of people impacted by developmental disabilities through enhancing skills and cultivating independence by incorporating nature and agriculture into their daily lives. 21 Roots Farm offers high-quality nature and agriculture-based programming that helps people with developmental disabilities cultivate a sense of purpose and community.
