Join instructor Jennifer Stark for a mixed media art class in Newport, held the first Tuesday of each month—July 1, August 1, and September 2—from 10 a.m. to noon. For $10 per session, all materials are provided as participants create unique monoprints using Gelli plates and engage in expressive mark-making and mixed media exploration. Each class features a different foundational focus, encouraging open-ended creativity suitable for all experience levels.
Simultaneously, visit the art exhibition "Three Artist Friends on a Mutual Journey" in Lyme, showcasing the works of three talented artists. Barbara Newton, a painter and collagist from rural New Hampshire, transforms natural compositions into striking artworks using Japanese type papers for texture and depth. Stephanie Reininger, an artist who captures memories from her life and travels through loose watercolor renditions, brings a personal touch to her subjects. Meanwhile, Anne Hartmann's watercolor paintings highlight their luminous qualities and meaningful scenes. This exhibition reflects the unique artistic journeys of these friends and celebrates their diverse styles. Enjoy both opportunities to immerse yourself in creativity this summer!
