After spending years playing in orchestras and teaching orchestra music, this foursome decided it was time to learn some chamber music and so, the BowVision String Quartet was created. Playing violin are orchestra teachers, Rachel Bierkan and Jessica Cox. Playing viola is Erin Houterloot. On cello is Julie Puntenney. The group originally met as students at UC’s College Conservatory of Music and then reconnected as members of the Cincinnati Community Orchestra. Now they play by their own rules as a string quartet. BowVision String Quartet has performed around Cincinnati at weddings, at bookstores, at retirement communities, at churches always playing for pure enjoyment. Sharing music with others is the greatest gift.
