The Hayley King Trio | 6-7:15 Golden Shoals | 7:30-8:45 About the bands: Golden Shoals is a fiddle and guitar duo with a "rousing old-time-style music that’s fueled by acerbic modern-day wit” (-No Depression Magazine). They are no strangers to traditional music, having placed in contests including Clifftop (3rd place 2023, 4th place 2022), Mount Airy, The Grand Masters Fiddlers Championship and Galax. Often switching instruments between fiddle, two guitars, and banjo, their original songs have been compared to Gillian Welch, with the added edge of instrumental prowess informed by energetic old time and bluegrass recordings. Hayley King is an old time fiddler, folk musician and songwriter from Blythewood, South Carolina. She completed a double major in Traditional Appalachian Music and Spanish at Morehead State University in Kentucky, after which she began pursuing a graduate degree at Appalachian State University. She will be joined by Daniel Sherrill on banjo and Jeremy Ferrell on guitar, both of whom are accomplished musicians with many years of experience in the world of Appalachian folk music.
