Join Hatha Yoga teacher Laraine Lippincott for this two hour online workshop in which you will learn how a specific yoga practice raises bone mineral density and counteracts osteoporosis and osteopenia! Laraine is a Certified Yoga vs. Osteoporosis instructor, a method developed by Dr. Loren Fishman to build strong bones and validated by the National Institutes of Health. She will guide you through several of Dr. Fishman’s safe, gentle and low impact postures, all osteoporosis- and osteopenia- safe. She will also teach the yoga way of sitting, standing and bending down to prevent weakening of the bones and fractures. This practice not only builds bone strength, but improves balance, posture, and flexibility, and alleviates anxiety, cultivating a calm mind. Laraine has been teaching yoga for over 20 years, and was a Wellness Instructor at Emerson Hospital for 10 years. No prior yoga experience necessary.
